Haw. Code R. § 11-504-23 - Contractor/Supervisors
(a) A contractor/supervisor may provide
services that include the following:
(1)
Perform abatement work as described for workers in accordance with
11-504-22(a);
(2) Ensure proper
work practices are followed; and
(3) Ensure that the abatement project is
performed in accordance with the specification of the certified project
designer.
(b) The
minimum requirements necessary for certification as a contractor/supervisor
include:
(1) Is at least eighteen years of
age; and
(2) Fulfills one of the
following sets of requirements:
(A) Has six
months of experience working within containment and has either successfully
completed a five-day, initial contractor/supervisor training course in
accordance with 11-504-52(b) or a refresher course in accordance with
11-504-53. The abatement entity shall submit evidence of these requirements to
the department, including a summary of past contracts and abatement projects
completed; or
(B) Three years of
experience in general construction and either successful completion of an
accredited contractor/supervisor training course in accordance with subsection
11-504-52(b) or any associated refresher training course in accordance with
section 11-504-53. The asbestos abatement entity shall submit evidence of this
training and experience to the department, including a summary of past
contracts and abatement projects completed.
