Haw. Code R. § 12-12-3 - Voluntary Coverage
An employer may voluntarily cover a person excluded under section 393-5, HRS, with a plan which will afford the person health care protection. Such voluntarily covered person shall not be entitled to the protection afforded by the statute or this chapter.
