Haw. Code R. § 12-15-21 - Advisory panel function
(a) The advisory
panel shall have the right to request or subpoena through the director relevant
information, such as x-rays and chart notes on each case. The health care
provider against whom the complaint has been filed shall be notified of the
health care provider's right to appear before the advisory panel at a specified
time and place for a review of the complaint.
(b) After the review, the advisory panel
shall recommend to the director disposition of the case.
(c) Should the health care provider of
concern fail or decline to appear, the advisory panel shall recommend to the
director appropriate action based on the available evidence.
(d) After receipt of the recommendation of
the advisory panel, the director shall hold a hearing pursuant to section
386-86,
HRS. The director shall furnish the health care provider against whom the
complaint has been filed and the complainant a copy of the advisory panel's
recommendation upon request.
