Haw. Code R. § 12-47-46 - Rulings on evidentiary matters
(a) The presiding
member shall rule on the admissibility of evidence and on any oral motions made
in the course of trial. The presiding member may issue a ruling after taking
the matter under advisement.
(b)
When objections are made to the admission or exclusion of evidence, the ground
relied upon may be stated briefly. Formal exceptions to rulings are unnecessary
and need not be taken.
(c) An offer
of proof for the record shall consist of a statement of the substance of the
evidence to which an objection had been sustained.
