Haw. Code R. § 13-256-130 - Kanaha Beach Park Restricted Zones
(a) Kanaha Beach
Park Swimming Zones A, B, and C mean the areas confined by the boundaries shown
for said zones on Exhibit "AAA", dated August 20, 1988, located at the end of
this subchapter. The boundaries are as follows:
(b) Swimming Zone A.
(1) Beginning at a point at the low water
mark in line and being an extension of the east boundary of Kanaha Beach Park;
thence by azimuth measured clockwise from True South, 180 degrees for a
distance of three hundred feet; 228 degrees for a distance of seven hundred ten
feet; 315 degrees to a point at the low water mark at the shoreline; then along
the low water mark of the shoreline of Kanaha Beach Park in a westerly
direction to the point of beginning.
(c) Swimming Zone B.
(1) Beginning at a point at the low water
mark at the tip of the groin located by azimuth measured clockwise from True
South, 093 degrees for a distance of four hundred seventy feet from the east
boundary of Kanaha Beach Park; 135 degrees for a distance of three hundred ten
feet; 047 degrees for a distance of six hundred feet; 350 degrees to a point at
the low water mark at the shoreline; then along the low water mark of the
shoreline of Kanaha Beach Park in a easterly direction to the point of
beginning.
(d) Swimming
Zone C.
(1) Beginning at a point at the low
water mark at the northeast tip of the groin located by azimuth measured from
True South, 090 degrees for a distance of one hundred fifty feet from the west
boundary of Kanaha Beach Park; 180 degrees for a distance of three hundred
feet; 248 degrees for a distance of eight hundred thirty feet; 315 degrees to a
point at the low water mark at the shoreline; then along the low water mark of
the shoreline of Kanaha Beach Park in a westerly direction to the point of
beginning.
(e)
Restrictions. The Kanaha Beach Park swim zones A, B, and C are designated for
swimming only. No person shall operate a vessel or sailboard within these
zones. No person shall launch a sailboard from Kanaha Beach Park prior to 11:00
a.m., except that windsurfing instruction and beginning windsurfing may be
conducted within three hundred feet of the shoreline between swimming zones A
and B after 9:00 a.m..
