Haw. Code R. § 15-185-53 - Total tenant payment

(a) The corporation shall compute the total tenant payment.
(b) There shall be an established minimum rent of $25.00 per month. Exception to the application of the minimum monthly rental amount shall apply if the family is unable to pay because of financial hardship which is determined pursuant to 24 C.F.R. 85.630 (2000) and includes the following situations:
(1) The family has lost eligibility or is awaiting an eligibility determination for federal, state, or local assistance;
(2) The family would be evicted as a result of the imposition of the minimum rent requirement;
(3) The income of the family has decreased because of changed circumstances, including:
(A) Loss of employment;
(B) An income producing family member dies; and
(C) Other circumstances beyond the family's control as determined by the corporation.
