Haw. Code R. § 15-215-46 - Open space

(a) Open space shall not to be used for driveways, loading purposes, storage, or for the parking of vehicles.
(b) Berms, landforms, or underground structures covered with landscaping, including artificial turf, or used for permitted agricultural uses, may be used to satisfy any open space requirements.
(c) For any project in the Kalaeloa CDD, a minimum of twenty per cent of each lot shall be provided as open space. One third of this requirement shall be satisfied at grade, with the remaining two-thirds at any elevation.
