Haw. Code R. § 15-302-13 - Process and procedures
(a) Applications
for participation in the rent-to-own program shall be available at the
principal office of the corporation or through a private realtor or property
manager contracted to handle the rent-to-own program on behalf of the
corporation.
(b) Units shall be
rented and sold under the rent-to-own program in accordance with all applicable
state and federal fair housing laws.
(c) Prior to identification of the site or
the start of marketing, an affirmative fair housing marketing plan shall be
filed with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and marketing
of the units shall not commence until approval of the plan is received from the
department. Such approval shall be necessary to ensure receipt of Federal
Housing Administration mortgage insurance.
(d) The corporation shall establish a system
to determine preferences by lot in the event that it receives more qualified
residents than it has units available.
(e) Applications may be accepted from an
applicant for more than one project sponsored by the corporation.
