Haw. Code R. § 16-114-72 - Use of terms
(a) The terms
'state licensed appraiser," "certified general appraiser," "certified
residential appraiser," or 'state certified appraiser" may only be used to
refer to an individual who is licensed or certified, as the case may be, under
chapter 466K, HRS, and this chapter and may not be used following, or
immediately in connection with, the name or signature of a corporation,
partnership, association, or any other group practice, or in any manner that
might be interpreted as referring to anyone other than the individual who is
licensed or certified under chapter 466K, HRS, and this chapter.
(b) This requirement shall not be construed
to prevent a licensee or certificate holder from signing an appraisal report on
behalf of a corporation, partnership, association, or any other group practice
if it is clear that only the individual is licensed or certified and the
corporation, partnership, association, or group practice is not.
(c) No person may assume or use the title
'state licensed appraiser," "certified general appraiser," "certified
residential appraiser," or 'state certified appraiser," as the case may be, or
any title designation or abbreviation likely to create the impression of
licensure or certification unless that person holds a current license or
certificate under chapter 466K, HRS, and this chapter.
