Haw. Code R. § 16-23-26 - Service of process

A self-insurer shall appoint an agent, who is a natural person, domiciled in the State of Hawaii to accept service of process and legal documents provided that in the event of a conflict between this chapter and any other statute or rule of civil procedure, the statute or rule of civil procedure shall prevail.
