Haw. Code R. § 16-89-10 - Eligibility for registered nurse examination
Graduates of the following nursing programs shall be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN, provided the requirements of section 16-89-47 have been met:
(1) A state-approved or
nationally accredited baccalaureate, the pre-licensure portion of a graduate
level program in nursing, an associate degree or diploma nursing program in the
United States or district or a territory of the United States;
(2) A foreign nursing school: and
(A) Applicants shall have their transcripts
evaluated by a professional education credentials evaluator recognized by the
board and shall have a report sent directly to the board by the evaluator;
and
(B) Applicants whose reports
from a board-recognized education credentials evaluator indicate that they have
successfully completed a nursing program which is comparable to an accredited
nursing program in the United States shall be deemed qualified as having met
the educational requirements set forth in chapter 457, HRS, and this chapter;
or
(3) A state-approved
external degree nursing program recognized by the board.
