Haw. Code R. § 17-1627-33 - Social life and leisure time
(a) The program
shall provide appropriate age and developmental socialization opportunities for
the child.
(b) Visits with legal
custodians, relatives, or friends shall be encouraged and opportunities shall
be provided for the visits when the visits are in the best interest of the
child.
(c) Visitations shall not be
used as a means of discipline or reward.
(d) The leisure time needs of the child shall
be met by a program that:
(1) Is flexible,
well-rounded, and is appropriate for the child's stage of
development;
(2) Allows the child
freedom of choice in selecting leisure time activities;
(3) Allows the child, where possible, to
become an active participant in appropriate community groups; and
(4) Recognizes the need for the child to be
alone at times.
(e) When
camping is included in the program, the standards of the American camping
association shall be followed.
