Haw. Code R. § 17-1709.2-1 - Purpose
This chapter is established to authorize, subject to the availability of state funding, a temporary state funded program to prevent, shorten, or eliminate the need for medical assistance administered by the department. Hawaii premium plus provides employers an incentive to increase employment by providing a monthly premium subsidy for providing health coverage to qualified employees for one year from the date of hire. At a minimum, the health coverage shall be the prevailing benefits as required by the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act.
