Haw. Code R. § 19-122-305 - Evidence of lawful status

The examiner of drivers shall verify that the submitted documents for proof of lawful status are authenticated through electronic or other means, including verification through the SAVE system. The examiner of drivers may accept any one of the following primary documents as proof of lawful status:

(1) Valid, unexpired U.S. passport or U.S. passport card;
(2) Certified copy of a birth certificate filed with a state office of vital statistics or equivalent agency in the individual's state of birth;
(3) Consular report of birth abroad Form FS-240, DS-1350 or FS-545 issued by the U.S. Department of State;
(4) Valid, unexpired permanent resident card (Form 1-551) issued by DHS or INS;
(5) Certificate of naturalization Form N-550 or Form N-570 issued by DHS;
(6) Certificate of citizenship. Form N-560 or Form N-561, issued by DHS; or
(7) Documentation issued by DHS or other federal agencies demonstrating lawful status as determined by the USCIS.
