Haw. Code R. § 19-122-316 - Return of mailed driver's license provisional driver's license, instruction permit, limited purpose driver's license, limited purpose provisional driver's license, or limited purpose instruction permit
(a) The
examiner of drivers may issue, over-the-counter, a United States Postal Service
(USPS) returned driver's license, provisional driver's license, instruction
permit, limited purpose driver's license, limited purpose provisional driver's
license, or limited purpose instruction permit if assured that a USPS delivery
error has occurred or under other unique circumstances as determined by the
examiner of drivers.
(b) If
returned mailed driver's license, provisional driver's license, instruction
permit, limited purpose driver's license, limited purpose provisional driver's
license or limited purpose instruction permit is due to an address change, the
examiner of drivers may issue, over-the-counter, a USPS returned driver's
license, provisional driver's license, instruction permit, limited purpose
driver license, limited purpose provisional driver's license, or limited
purpose instruction permit with the incorrect address provided that appropriate
documentary evidence of the new principal residence address, principal address,
or mailing address is presented and scanned into the applicant's driver's
license record.
(c) Address changes
need not be reflected on the card according to 6 CFR Part 37 § 37.3. If the
applicant wishes the card printed with the correct address, a duplicate fee
shall be assessed. If the address changes are due to a clerical error, a
nocharge duplicate shall be issued.
