Haw. Code R. § 19-122-358 - Vision test; restrictions for categories 1, 2, and 3
With or without correction:
(1) The applicant with visual acuity of 20/40
or better in each eye and whose horizontal visual field is 140 degrees or more
using both eyes shall have no restriction;
(2) The applicant with visual acuity of 20/40
or better in each eye and whose horizontal visual field is 70-139 degrees using
both eyes shall have a restriction for outside rear view mirrors;
(3) The applicant with visual acuity of 20/40
or better in only one eye and whose horizontal visual field is 70 degrees or
more in the better eye shall have a restriction for outside rear view mirrors;
and
(4) The applicant using
corrective lenses shall be restricted to operating a vehicle only when
corrective lenses are worn.
