Haw. Code R. § 19-123-151 - Certification courses for instructors
All applicants for certification as instructors must satisfactorily complete courses in rider education that have been certified, or subsequently certified, by the department. The courses shall meet or exceed nationally accepted and recognized standards. The curricula for instructor courses shall be submitted to the department for review by a task force established by the department and certification by the director, as provided in subchapter 5. No instructor course shall contain less than seventy-two hours of instruction.
