Haw. Code R. § 19-127.1-30 - Maintenance of pavement markings
Painted pavement marking should be renewed when condition reaches No. 4 degree of abrasion and erosion (American Society for Testing and Materials method: D821). Tape and thermoplastic markings should be renewed as determined by the traffic engineer of the state or county agency having jurisdiction. Raised markers should be maintained so that at least ninety percent of the markers are in place.
