Haw. Code R. § 19-133.2-3 - Inspection and certification of vehicles

(a) All ambulances shall be inspected and certified once every six months.

(b) All taxicabs shall be inspected every 12 months.

(c) All other vehicles, including motorcycles, trailers, semi-trailers, and pole trailers shall be inspected and certified every twelve months, except that vehicles over 10,000 pounds GVWR without a DOT exemption from the motor carrier program must be inspected under that program, and new non-motor carrier vehicles shall be inspected on or before the date they are first sold and then every twelve months two years after the date they are first sold.
