Haw. Code R. § 19-142-14 - Official Inspection stations; operating procedures
(a) Official inspection stations shall be
operated in accordance with this chapter and the following:
(1) Public official inspection stations shall
be operated with reasonable regard for the convenience of the public;
(2) Inspections shall be conducted only at
official inspection stations which have been issued a permit by the
director;
(3) Inspections shall be
conducted only by inspectors who have a valid inspector's
certificate;
(4) Official
inspection stations shall not allow any of their vehicles to be in non
compliance with this chapter.
(5)
Public official inspection stations may be required to post a sign with a
minimum area of one hundred forty-four square inches, clearly visible from a
public area, containing the words "Official Motor Carrier Vehicle Safety
Inspection Station," together with the identifying letter and number assigned
to that station; and
(b)
The director shall furnish copies of all instructions and required forms,
including a copy of this chapter and any updates to every official inspection
station. The copies will be available at the Motor Vehicle Safety Office. The
director may require persons receiving rules to pay the cost of those
items.
