Haw. Code R. § 19-20.1-43 - Safety and security
(a) In order to
help ensure the public health, safety and airport security, any merchandise
shall be removed to a storage area by authorized department personnel if:
(1) The merchandise is unclaimed after four
hours from the time of delivery; or
(2) The merchandise is left unattended for
any amount of time in violation of section
19-20.1-42.
(b) Any merchandise not claimed
after two days in storage may be summarily disposed of by the department
without notice to the permittee.
(c) The cost of removal, storage or disposal
of merchandise shall be assessed to the permittee. The proceeds, if any, from
the sale or disposal of any unclaimed merchandise shall be used to offset the
cost of removal, storage and disposal and the balance remaining shall be
payable to the permittee or passenger upon proof of entitlement thereto.
