Haw. Code R. § 23-100-1 - General provisions
(a) Persons may be
allowed to visit inmates subject to the following limitations:
(1) The availability of visiting space and
the location of the facility;
(2)
The availability of facility resources incident to arranging and supervising
visits;
(3) The rescheduling of
visits which shall not interfere with other scheduled institutional
activities;
(4) Personal visitation
restraints placed on an inmate for disciplinary actions; and
(5) Any other good cause which the facility
decides that visitation may jeopardize the good government, safety, and the
security of the facility, inmate, or visitors.
(b) Notification of contraband laws to
visitors shall be made by appropriate means at each facility before the
entrance of the individual, either by form or sign.
(c) All visitors are subject to background
checks, including criminal history checks, and may be required to provide
personal information to allow the facility to conduct such checks. Failure to
provide such information may result in disapproval of the request for a
visit.
