Haw. Code R. § 4-157-9 - Payment of bills
(a) All bills shall
be due and payable when the department deposits the bill in the United States
mail, or upon presentation to the consumer, whichever is earlier. Payment shall
be made at the office of the irrigation district manager or at the department's
option, to duly authorized collectors of the department. If any bill is not
paid within thirty days after the department presents the bill directly to the
consumer or deposits it in the United States mail for delivery, the water
service shall be subject to discontinuance without further notice.
(b) There shall be a service charge for
payments made by checks which have been dishonored by the bank for any reason.
The service charge shall be as provided in section
40-35.5,
Hawaii Revised Statutes, and shall be added to the charges set in section
167-6,
Hawaii Revised Statutes.
(c) An
interest charge shall be assessed on delinquent balances of more than sixty
days and the interest rate shall be consistent with chapter 167, Hawaii Revised
Statutes.
