Haw. Code R. § 4-29-11.1 - Animals abandoned in quarantine

An animal shall be considered abandoned if there is no response within thirty days to a certified letter mailed after the animal's release date to the last known address of its owner, or if any animal remains in the quarantine station more than sixty days after the date of scheduled release. The disposition of the abandoned animal shall be at the discretion of the animal quarantine manager and may include placement by adoption or euthanasia.
