Haw. Code R. § 4-29-18 - Penalty
(a) Any person, including a carrier or
handler, who violates any provision of this chapter shall be subject to
penalties provided in this chapter and section
142-12, HRS.
(b) In addition, except as otherwise
provided, when this chapter provides that a person shall be denied access to
the animal quarantine station for a violation of this chapter the person may
not be admitted to the animal quarantine station for a period ranging from two
weeks following the violation up to an indefinite period. The length of the
period shall be determined by the animal quarantine manager, in the manager's
sole discretion, and shall be based on the nature and seriousness of the
violation, including any threat entailed to the stadon security or operations;
the health or welfare of animals at the station, and the public health and
welfare; and any history of past violations. A kennel assigned to a person who
violates this chapter may be secured by lock and access allowed only under
supervision of quarantine station personnel.
(c) Dogs and cats arriving in quarantine past
forty-five days gestation will be assessed a fee of $7.50 for each day in
quarantine in addition to the confinement period fee.
(d) Dogs and cats remaining in quarantine
after an animal's release date will be assessed a fee of $3.50 for each
additional day in addition to the daily quarantine fee.
