Haw. Code R. § 4-67-6 - Extension of germination test date
The limitation on the date of test for agricultural and vegetable seed shall be extended to thirty-six months when all of the following conditions have been met:
(1) the seed
was packaged in a hermetically-sealed container which does not allow water
vapor penetration through any wall, including the seals, greater than 0.05
grams of water per twenty-four hours per one hundred square inches of surfare
at 100° F. with a relative humidity (RH) on one side of ninety per cent and
on the other side of zero per cent. Water vapor penetration (WVP) is measured
by the standards of the United States Bureau of Standards as: gm

inch/1000 F./90% RH V .0% RH;
(2) The seed was packaged within nine months
after harvest;
(3) The percentage
of germination of vegetable seed at the time of packaging was equal to or above
the standard as provided in § 4-67-14;
(4) The seed in the container does not exceed
the percentage of moisture, on a weight basis, as listed in Table 1, "Maximum
Percentage of Moisture Allowable by Weight in a Hermetically-Sealed Seed
Container," dated June 18, 1992 located at the end of this chapter;
and
(5) The container is labeled in
accordance with the labeling requirements of § 4-67-5.
