Haw. Code R. § 6-27-6 - Persons eligible for member home loans
To be eligible for a member home loan, the applicant shall be a retirant or an active member of the system with at least twelve continuous months of membership service immediately before certification by the system that the applicant is eligible for the loan, provided that:
(1) An active member whose appointment
(employment) is for a fixed period of time or to a fixed date shall have had at
least eighteen continuous months of membership service immediately before
certification and, in addition, shall have at least six months remaining in the
period of appointment. If the remaining period of appointment is less than six
months, the system may waive the six month requirement upon presentation of
written assurance of reappointment given by the appointing authority;
(2) An active member on leave without pay
shall not be eligible;
(3) A member
who has an outstanding member home loan shall not be eligible, except as
otherwise provided in section 6-27-7;
(4) A member shall not be eligible to apply
for or obtain a loan for another person.
