Haw. Code R. § 8-33-4 - Supply and material fees
Students in adult education classes may be assessed supply and material fees to defray the cost of instructor-provided expendable supplies and materials, such as food items or clothing material, used in the classroom and which are necessary for conducting the class. Supply and material fees shall be determined by the instructor by pro rating the actual cost of instructor-provided supplies and materials among students enrolled in the class. Supply and material fees shall be reviewed and approved by the principal.
