Haw. Code R. § 8-54-9.15 - Forms of disciplinary sanctions
Notwithstanding any other powers of the board to discipline a license the board may impose the following:
(1) The revocation of a license or permit the
duration of which shall be set by the board but may not be less than five (5)
years; provided that conviction of crimes against children and sexual offenses
may result in the lifetime revocation of a license;
(2) The suspension of a license or permit the
duration of which shall be set by the board but may not exceed five (5)
years;
(3) Place conditions on the
licensee or permit holder for a specified amount of time, which may include,
but are not limited to, activities directed toward improving a teacher's
performance in the area of the violation;
(4) Censure or warn the licensee or permit
holder if the board determines that a violation has occurred that does not
necessitate a more severe action to be taken
(5) on a licensee or permit holder. A copy of
the censure or warning will be placed in the board's file of the licensee or
permit holder. A copy will be sent to the licensee or permit holder and he/she
will have thirty (30) calendar days to file a written response. The response
will be placed in the board's file of the licensee or permit holder;
and
(6) Monetary
penalties.
