Ill. Admin. Code tit. 17, § 810.100 - Bed Protection
a) It is
unlawful to operate any motorized vehicle upon the bed of any public water
wholly or partially within the State of Illinois.
b) The following vehicles are exempted from
the above subsection:
1) vehicles operating
under a permit issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation which allows
operation in the bed of a public water;
2) farm vehicles while being used for farming
purposes; and
3) vehicles owned or
operated by United States, State of Illinois, or a political subdivision
thereof.
