Ill. Admin. Code tit. 23, § 258.30 - Multidisciplinary Endorsements
The Endorsement system shall also provide for a multidisciplinary endorsement system for students that change career pathways during high school while meeting the individualized plan, professional learning, and academic readiness requirements. (Section 80(c) of the Act.) To award a multidisciplinary endorsement, the school district must comply with the requirements of this Section.
a) The school district must demonstrate that
the student has an approved individualized plan under Section
258.20 and that the student
intends on maintaining that plan.
b) The school district must provide evidence
that the student has completed the following:
1) at least two career exploration activities
or an intensive career exploration experience;
2) at least four semesters of courses from
one or both instructional sequences, including at least six hours of early
college credit;
3) at least two
team-based challenges from one or both career pathways;
4) demonstration of academic
readiness;
5) one career
development experience from at least one of the two career pathways;
and
6) demonstration of proficiency
in all the cross-sector essential employability competencies and proficiency in
at least five of the technical competencies for each career pathway.
c) The school district must submit
the items listed in this Section on a per-student basis to the State Board via
the State Board's Multidisciplinary Endorsement Student Evidence Form no later
than July 31.
