Ill. Admin. Code tit. 92, § 1010.735 - Interline Movements
a)
"Interline movements" are joint movements by two or more carriers when the
initiating carrier does not have the requisite through "for-hire" authority,
and his vehicle and driver are turned over to another carrier with the
additional authority necessary, all pursuant to the federal or state "for-hire"
laws and regulations.
b)
"Commercial vehicles" operated by any person for the transportation of persons
or property, may be utilized in interline "for-hire" movements by two or more
carriers within Illinois as follows:
1) An
"Interstate" Movement may be made with a vehicle:
A) Properly registered in Illinois;
or
B) Properly registered in
another State if it is displaying and Illinois One-Trip Permit; or
C) Part of a fleet apportioned with Illinois
and displaying the Illinois Prorate Decal.
2) "Intrastate" Movements must be made with
vehicles properly registered in Illinois.
