Iowa Admin. Code r. 282-27.6 - [Effective until 2/26/2025] Specific requirements for a Class B license
A Class B license, which is valid for two years and which is nonrenewable, may be issued to an individual under the following conditions:
(1)
Endorsement in
progress. The individual has a valid professional service license and
one or more professional service endorsements, but is seeking to obtain some
other professional service endorsement. A Class B license may be issued if
requested by an employer and if the individual seeking to obtain some other
professional service endorsement has completed at least two-thirds of the
requirements, or one-half of the content requirements in a state-designated
shortage area, leading to completion of all requirements for the
endorsement.
(2)
Request
for exception. A school district administrator may file a written
request with the board for an exception to the minimum content requirements on
the basis of documented need and benefit to the instructional program. The
board will review the request and provide a written decision either approving
or denying the request.
(3)
Expiration. This license will expire on June 30 of the fiscal
year in which it was issued plus one year.
