Iowa Admin. Code r. 481-31.8 - Enforcement
A person who violates Iowa Code chapter 137F or these rules shall be subject to a civil penalty of $100 for each violation. Prior to the assessment of any civil penalties, a hearing conducted by the appeals division in the department of inspections and appeals must be provided as required in rule 481-30.13 (10A). Additionally, the department may employ various other remedies if violations are discovered:
1. A license may be
revoked or suspended.
2. An
injunction may be sought.
3. A case
may be referred to a county or city attorney for criminal
prosecution.
