Iowa Admin. Code r. 641-40.55 - Security and control of licensed or registered sources of radiation
1. The licensee or
registrant shall secure licensed or registered radioactive material that is
stored in controlled or unrestricted areas from unauthorized removal or
access.
2. The licensee or
registrant shall maintain constant surveillance and use devices or
administrative procedures to prevent unauthorized use of licensed or registered
radioactive material that is in an unrestricted area and that is not in
storage.
3. The registrant shall
secure registered radiation machines from unauthorized removal.
4. The registrant shall use devices or
administrative procedures to prevent unauthorized use of registered radiation
machines.
5. Security requirements
for portable gauges. Each portable gauge licensee shall use a minimum of two
independent physical controls that form tangible barriers to secure portable
gauges from unauthorized removal, whenever portable gauges are not under the
control and constant surveillance of the licensee .
