Iowa Admin. Code r. 641-40.80 - General provisions
(1)
Each licensee or registrant shall use the special units curie , rad , rem and
roentgen , counts per minute (cpm), disintegrations per minute (dpm), or the SI
units becquerel , gray, sievert and coulomb per kilogram, including multiples
and subdivisions, and shall clearly indicate the units of all quantities on
records required by this chapter.
(2) The licensee or registrant shall make a
clear distinction among the quantities entered on the records required by this
chapter, such as, total effective dose equivalent , total organ dose equivalent ,
shallow dose equivalent, lens dose equivalent, deep dose equivalent , or
committed effective dose equivalent .
(3) In the records required by this chapter,
the licensee may record quantities in SI units in parentheses following each of
the units specified in 40.80(1). However, all quantities must be recorded as
stated in 40.80(1).

Notwithstanding the requirements of 40.80(1), when recording information on
shipment manifests, as required in
641-40.75 (136C), information must be recorded in the International System of Units (SI)
or in SI and units as specified in 40.80(1).
(5) Notwithstanding the requirements of
40.80(1), records of removable radioactive surface contamination on packages
shall be recorded in disintegrations per minute (dpm).
