Iowa Admin. Code r. 641-96.13 - Fee collection

If a person responsible for the registration of a certificate of live birth under Iowa Code section 144.13 is not the parent, the person shall collect the fees from the parent and remit the fees to the state registrar.

(1) The person collecting the fee on behalf of the state registrar shall not charge an administrative fee for collection of the registration and certified copy fees pursuant to Iowa Code section 144.13A(3).

(2) A person is discharged from the duty to collect and remit the fees when the person has made a good-faith effort to collect the fees from the parent or has established that the fees are to be waived pursuant to Iowa Code section 144.13A(3).
