Iowa Admin. Code r. 657-1.6 - Fee for returned check
A nonrefundable fee of $20 may be charged for a check returned for any reason. If a license, registration, or permit has been issued by the board based on a check for the payment of fees and the check is later returned by the bank, the board shall request payment by certified check, cashier's check, or money order. If the fees, including the fee for a returned check, are not paid within 15 calendar days of notification of the returned check, the license, registration, or permit is no longer in effect and the status reverts to what it would have been had the license, registration, or permit not been issued. Late payment penalties will be assessed, as provided in board rules, for subsequent requests to renew or reissue the license, registration, or permit.

State regulations are updated quarterly; we currently have two versions available. Below is a comparison between our most recent version and the prior quarterly release. More comparison features will be added as we have more versions to compare.
