Iowa Admin. Code r. 657-35.9 - Presiding officer in a disciplinary contested case

The presiding officer in a disciplinary contested case shall be the board. When acting as presiding officer, the board may request that an administrative law judge perform certain functions as an aid to the board, such as ruling on prehearing motions, conducting the prehearing conference, ruling on evidentiary objections at hearing, assisting in deliberations, and drafting the written decision for review by the board.
