Iowa Admin. Code r. 701-7.14 - [Effective 3/26/2025] Subpoenas
Prior to the commencement of a contested case, the department has the authority to subpoena books, papers, and records and has all other subpoena powers conferred upon it by law. Subpoenas in this case shall be issued by the director or the director's designee. Once a contested case is commenced, subpoenas must be issued by the presiding officer.
This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 17A.13, 421.9, 421.17, and 422.70.
