Based on an expired Iowa
certificate or license, exclusive of a Class A extension or Class B
license.
a. The holder of an expired
license, exclusive of a Class A extension or Class B license, shall be eligible
to receive a Class A extension license upon application. This license shall be
endorsed for the type of service authorized by the expired license on which it
is based.
b. The holder of an
expired license who is currently under contract with an Iowa educational unit
(area education agency/local education agency/local school district) and who
does not meet the renewal requirements for the license held shall be required
to secure the signature of the superintendent or designee before the license
will be issued.
(2)
Based on a mentoring and induction program. An applicant may
be eligible for a Class A extension license if the school district, after
conducting a comprehensive evaluation, recommends and verifies that the
applicant shall participate in the mentoring program for a third year. No
