Kan. Admin. Regs. § 10-13-1 - Right to review and challenge decisions
(a) Upon
presentation of proper identification, a person may request a copy of that
person's criminal history record information and juvenile offender information
retained at the local level or at the KBI. Requested criminal history record
information and juvenile offender information may be provided in abstract form
by mail or electronic transmission, at the discretion of the providing agency.
The providing agency shall include with the record written notification to the
individual of the right to challenge the accuracy of the content of the
individual's record and the procedures to submit these challenges. Any
unresolved challenge may be reviewed by the director of the KBI or the
authorized designee.
(b) All
corrections made to the record by local agencies shall be reported to the KBI.
