Kan. Admin. Regs. § 102-3-5a - Examinations
(a)
(1) An applicant for licensure as a
professional counselor shall take a nationally administered, standardized
written examination approved by the board. The minimum passing score shall be
the criterion-referenced cutoff score.
(2) The applicant's required written
examination may be waived by the board if the applicant has successfully passed
a nationally administered, standardized written examination deemed by the board
to be substantially equivalent to the examination used in this state and if the
applicant obtained a score equal to or greater than the criterion-referenced
cutoff score.
(3) An applicant
shall not be authorized to register for the examination or to qualify for a
waiver of the examination until the applicant has fulfilled all educational
requirements and has satisfied the board that the applicant merits the public
trust.
(b)
(1) An applicant for licensure as a clinical
professional counselor shall take a nationally administered, standardized
written clinical examination approved by the board. The minimum passing score
shall be the criterion-referenced cutoff score.
(2) The applicant's required written clinical
examination may be waived by the board if the applicant has successfully passed
a standardized written examination deemed by the board to be substantially
equivalent to the examination used in this state and if the applicant obtained
a score equal to or greater than the criterion-referenced cutoff score.
(3) An applicant shall not be
authorized to register for the clinical examination or to qualify for a waiver
of the examination until the applicant has fulfilled all educational
requirements and has satisfied the board that the applicant merits the public
trust.
