Kan. Admin. Regs. § 102-3-7b - Requirements for board-approved clinical supervisor; application
(a) Each licensee
providing postgraduate clinical supervision shall be a board-approved clinical
supervisor. This requirement shall apply to each individual commencing a new
supervisory relationship on or after July 1, 2017.
(b) In addition to meeting the requirements
in K.S.A. 2016 Supp.
65-5818 and amendments thereto and
K.A.R.
102-3-7a, the licensee shall successfully
complete clinical supervision training, which shall be approved by the board
and be specific to providing supervision or becoming a supervisor. This
training shall include either 15 hours of continuing education in supervision
taken within the last six years or one semester credit hour of a graduate-level
course on supervision or the academic equivalent at an accredited college or
university approved by the board, each of which shall cover the following
material:
(1) Roles in and functions of
clinical supervision;
(2) models of
clinical supervision;
(3) mental
health-related professional development;
(4) methods and techniques in clinical
supervision;
(5) supervisory
relationship issues;
(6) cultural
issues in clinical supervision;
(7)
group supervision;
(8) legal and
ethical issues in clinical supervision; and
(9) evaluation of supervisee competence and
the supervision process.
(c) Each licensee applying for approval as a
clinical supervisor shall obtain the appropriate application forms from the
board and submit the completed application materials to the board.
(d) To maintain approval as a clinical
supervisor, each approved clinical supervisor shall successfully complete the
required continuing education specified in K.S.A. 2016 Supp.
65-5818, and amendments
thereto.
