Kan. Admin. Regs. § 105-5-9 - Factors in determining compensation in exceptional cases

The following factors shall be considered by the board in its determination of reasonable compensation in exceptional cases:

(a) the amount and the type of services rendered;
(b) the amount of time expended on the case;
(c) the character and importance of the litigation;
(d) the amount of money or value of the property affected;
(e) the legal skills and experience required for the particular case;
(f) the ratio of out-of-court preparation time to in-court time;
(g) the reasonableness of client contact; and
(h) the proximity of the client to attorney defense services.
