Kan. Admin. Regs. § 28-35-211a - Persons to whom the standards apply

(a) Except as specifically provided in other parts of these regulations, these regulations shall apply to persons licensed or registered by the department to receive, possess, use, transfer, or dispose of sources of radiation. The limits in these regulations shall not apply to:
(1) doses due to background radiation;
(2) exposure of patients to radiation for the purpose of medical diagnosis or therapy; or
(3) voluntary participation in medical research programs.
(b) Nothing in these regulations shall be construed as limiting actions that may be necessary to protect health and safety.
