Kan. Admin. Regs. § 28-35-277a - Conducting industrial radiographic operations
(a) If radiography
is performed at a location other than a permanent radiographic installation,
the radiographer shall be accompanied by at least one other qualified
radiographer or an individual who has at a minimum met the requirements
specified in K.A.R. 28-35-289. The additional qualified individual shall
observe the operations and shall be capable of providing immediate assistance
to prevent unauthorized entry. Radiography shall not be performed if only one
qualified individual is present.
(b) All radiographic operations shall be
conducted in a permanent radiographic installation unless otherwise
specifically authorized by the secretary.
(c) Except when physically impossible,
collimators shall be used in industrial radiographic operations that use
radiographic exposure devices that allow the source to be moved out of the
device.
(d) Any licensee or
registrant may conduct lay-barge, offshore-platform, or underwater radiography
only if the licensee's or registrant's procedures have been approved by the
secretary, the nuclear regulatory commission, or another agreement state.
