Kan. Admin. Regs. § 30-5-109 - Scope of services in free-standing inpatient psychiatric facilities
(a) Services shall
be available to program recipients who are 65 and over if the services are
provided by a facility that meets the medicare requirements.
(b) Services shall be available to program
recipients who are under 21 years of age if the services are provided by a
facility accredited by the joint commission on accreditation of hospitals.
(c) Services for recipients under
age 21 shall be rendered before the recipient reaches age 21 or, if the
recipient was receiving the services immediately before reaching the age of 21,
before the earlier of the following:
(1) The
date the recipient no longer requires the services; or
(2) the date the recipient reaches the age of
22.
(d) Free-standing
inpatient psychiatric facility admissions for persons under 21 shall be
certified by an interdisciplinary team. This certification shall include
documentation that the team has evaluated the patient, considered all local
community resources for ambulatory care, and concluded that none of the
available resources meet the patient's treatment needs.
(e) This regulation shall take effect on and
after July 1, 1997.
