Kan. Admin. Regs. § 9-28-2 - Brucella ovis tests
(a) Any owner of a
flock of sheep may apply for a certificate certifying that flock as a brucella
ovis-free flock when the flock meets the following requirements.
(1) Each ram in the flock shall have an
individual identification.
(2)
Each test-eligible ram shall test negative on two official serology tests 45 to
120 days apart. Each ram shall be exempt from testing in the year of its birth.
(b) Each owner of a
flock of sheep satisfactorily completing the test requirements under subsection
(a) for a brucella ovis-free flock shall be issued a certificate certifying the
flock of sheep as a brucella ovis-free flock by the Kansas animal health
department. The certificate shall be valid for one year from the date of
certification.
(c) To continue the
brucella ovis-free flock certification, each test-eligible ram shall test
negative annually. Each owner of one or more brucella ovis-free flocks shall be
notified by mail of recertification requirements no fewer than 30 days before
the expiration of the brucella ovis-free flock status.
