Kan. Admin. Regs. § 91-37-1 - Definitions

(a) "Board" means the board of education of any school district.
(b) "Infant" and "toddler" means a child who has not attained the age of three years.
(c) "Parent education program grant" means an award of state money to a school district for the development and operation of a program to provide expectant parents and parents of infants or toddlers, or both, with information, advice, assistance, resource materials, guidance and learning experiences regarding such measures as parenting skills and the various styles of parenting; the processes and principles of growth and development of children; home learning activities designed for infants and toddlers; techniques emphasizing a positive approach to discipline; effective methods of communicating and interacting with children to foster the development of self-esteem; strategies for structuring behavioral limits and increasing mutual positive regard; and other elements of effective parenting that are conducive to the structuring of a home environment in which children are encouraged to be successful and productive learners.
(d) "School district" means any public school district organized and operating under the laws of the state.
(e) "State board" means the state board of education.
